With legal support from MEA, members of the Stateline Clean Air Coalition are raising the alarm over harmful levels of air pollution in the Beloit and speaking out against the expansion of a gas-fired power plant along the Wisconsin-Illinois border.

Developing Water Quality Standards for PFAS
MEA successfully advocated for statewide water quality standards for PFAS in surface water and municipal drinking water. We continue to advocate for much-need PFAS groundwater standards that will help protect rural Wisconsinites who rely on groundwater from private wells.

Decades of disinvestment have led to disproportionately high rates of lead exposure among communities of color and lower-income families in Milwaukee’s north side. As a member of the Coalition on Lead Emergency, MEA is advocating for policies and new sources of funding to address this environmental injustice.
