Midwest Environmental Advocates is honored to be recognized by Community Shares of Wisconsin as a recipient of the 2026 Community Change-Maker Award alongside our partners at River Alliance of Wisconsin and Wisconsin Conservation Voices.
The award recognizes years of collaborative work to address PFAS contamination and reduce exposure to these toxic substances. Together with community leaders and local advocates, our organizations successfully advocated for statewide PFAS standards and funding for PFAS testing, remediation, and assistance for homeowners whose private wells have been contaminated.
While we are proud of this recognition, the award belongs to the communities that refused to accept contaminated drinking water as the status quo. Their persistence, courage, and leadership have driven every major PFAS policy victory in Wisconsin.
