Citizen Voices Matter: In Hayward, WI

In order to defend the Lac Courte Oreilles rights to fish and hunt, the Tribe and Mic Ishem worked with Midwest Environmental Advocates to prove that sulfide mining contamination in the Flambeau River was an ongoing problem.

In a settlement, Kennecott Minerals agreed to a multi-year effort of soil and water sampling and remediation.
