Website Management Volunteer

We are seeking a tech-savvy and detail-oriented volunteer to help us manage and update the backend of our website. This volunteer will be responsible for efficiently learning the ins and outs of our website and then taking on discreet website content management projects on a recurring basis.

This volunteer can build useful skills while having a key role in managing our organization’s most important communications tool. This essential function helps share our work, events and legal actions in a timely fashion with a broad audience. Once trained, your expertise and knowledge of our website will also be vital in helping us create more efficient administrative systems.

A six-month commitment is required for this position. We are seeking a volunteer who can consistently work from our office in downtown Madison for 4-6 hours per week during normal business hours. This volunteer will be trained and overseen by our Communications Director over the course of 2-3 weeks. Possible additional professional development opportunities may arise over the course of the volunteer position.

The right candidate will be able to work independently, have an aptitude for learning technical systems and enjoy a sunny, dog-friendly work environment. Previous website experience a plus (our content management system is Expression Engine), but not essential.

Contact advocate@midwestadvocates.org if you are interested.
