Dan Collins is an ecological restoration practitioner for Landscapes of Place and licensed Professional Engineer. In his work he performs ecological restoration planning, implementation and management for a range of clients in both public and private sectors, on projects from five to 5,000 acres. His practice incorporates research, development and implementation of restoration protocols to convert landscapes to higher functioning ecosystems. In addition to formal restoration methods Dan uses a broad range of non-traditional tools to understand, engage and act on landscapes including; silent observation, historical records research, poetry, printmaking and political engagement.
Dan has broad experience in the formation and management of technology oriented companies with specific depth in energy and control where he holds two patents. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Dan is a longtime member and past President of the Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters’ board and a member of the Policy Committee for the Southeastern Wisconsin Watershed Trust.
